Understanding media ecology and digital rhetoric is not an easy task. It’s an attempt to connect the media, the audience and the culture and define it was one entity and finding the connection between technology and human affairs. The internet has an entire ecosystem of it’s own that is dependent on the public to maintain it and grow it. Because of this, the norm of the internet media now is no longer a producer to consumer relationship but something much more complicated and multifaceted; we now have prosumers. But I prefer to call these prosumers Media DJs because they are taking in the media and mixing it with other media to create a new product of their own; similar to what DJs do with music. And because of the nature of Media DJing, nothing that goes on the internet anymore is safe from this remixing. It has became the integral part of Web 2.0. In this project I will explain my understand of this media ecology and digital rhetoric. I will explain three key aspects of this culture: Media Contagiosity, Media DJs and Public Reliance. These are all contributors to the culture of the internet.
